Hauz Khas

The area gets its name from the ‘royal tank’ which Alauddin Khilji excavated in 1300 to supply water to his new city of Siri. In 1352 Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlak built a madrassa and also an enclosure for his own tomb. Boutiques, art galleries and restaurants have taken over a part of this complex.
