Lakshmi Narayan Mandir
It is amongst the most popular Hindu temples in Delhi. It was built in 1938 and is also known as Birla Mandir. The temple is dedicated to Laxmi (Goddess of Wealth) and Narayana (the Preserver). The annual festival of Janamashtami, commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, is celebrated with a lot of pomp & gaiety. The Laxmi Narayan Temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi on the condition that people of all castes be allowed to enter the temple. Timings: 04:30 – 21:00 Hrs. Open on all days.
