ITC Hotel Sonar Bangla Sheraton declared as one of the best hotels in the world

I ‘ll let you in on a secret – one of the world’s best hotels is in Kolkata. Yes, the grand but crumbing Victorian city is home to a stunning architectural creation.
Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, responsible for Bangkok’s Sukhothai among others, this is a Wallpaper* fantasy come true. The 15-acre site boasts three wings, green spaces, lily-filled water features, seven restaurants, a spa, swimming pool, mini golf course….
But does the service match up? Of course. The reputation of Asian hospitality is upheld if not exceeded, especially by the personal butler.
The vast ITC One Suites are styled in dark woods with sliding doors and shutters, subtle lighting, mirrors and wall panels. There’s a flat-screen TV, DVD player and stereo in both rooms, stand-alone bath in the huge bathroom and a balcony if you feel the need.
There can be very few hotels in the world that have such a ‘WOW’ factor. There are fewer still with the service and facilities to match. This is one of them.
