Ladies only : Hotels offer exclusive floors.

Special care, attention and Security for Women Guests.

When Mrs Iyer flew down from Delhi to Mumbai on a three-day business tour last week, Mr Iyer was not as worried as he normally would have been. His wife would be checking into a five-star hotel boasting a “Women only floor”. Keeping in mind the two things that women travelers look for most safety and privacy. These new all women rooms will have female staff and special services for women.
ITC Grand Central Sheraton In Mumbai, for instance, has introduced 15 exclusive rooms for women. The Oberoi group and the Bharat Hotels are conducting a feasibility study. The Leela group will introduce “Women Only Floor” in its Chennai property and other forthcoming projects.
Hotels that do not offer these floors’ are making up with extra attention in terms of safety and additional amenities for luxury and comfort. “In the corporate sector, the women traveler is distinct from her male counterpart in terms of needs and services. It is critical for us to address this rapidly growing segment,” Peter J Leitgeb, President of The Leela Palaces and Resorts said.
These rooms are stocked with ,up market amenities catering to the needs of the women. The amenities provided are privacy and safety focused security systems, like door video phone, separate lifts, in room check-in, workout stepper, value additions at spa services like massages, facials, manicures and body treatment besides separate room service menu.
Anil Malik, GM, ITC Grand said,:” It is an entirely new business segment that is emerging. Safety and comfort are the two areas kept in mind while designing this product. It was, however, a significant business decision to introduce ‘women Only Floors’ as such rooms exclusively designed for women cannot be offered to men, when they are vacant.”
Other amenities include, full length mirrors, magnifying two-sided round make-up mirrors, up market bathing toiletries besides soft colour schemes in rooms and special bathroom lightening. The price tag for such premium rooms range between Rs 7000-8000 per night.
