The arc lights zapped and criss-crossed across the stage , the music rose to a crescendo, and a shower of glittering confetti had all eyes on the podium, as the gorgeous Sada and the glamorous Koena Mitra launched the Times Food Guide 2006 at a glitzy event at the ITC Hotel Windsor Sheraton & Towers on Friday.
Atmosphere, glamour, style, special effects , beautiful and powerful people, delectable cuisines from across the world... it was all there in abundance at the launch. From chairs dressed in their best bows, carnations pepping up all tables,drapes in black and red matching the colours of the book of the evening , to perfectly timed visual and sound effects, and the irrepressible Rohit Barker, the MC of the evening, the anticipation was amply matched as the book revolved into vision on stage: and later too, as gourmet and glutton were equally satiated , by food , glorious food , right after the resplendent awards ceremony . Which , by the way, had chief minister of Karnataka , no less, give away the final award.
