ITC Hotels gets award for heritage

ITC’s WelcomHeritage hotel chain has won the Express Galileo Award for the best heritage chain of hotels in India.
It was presented at a function in Mumbai on Wednesday, and the others in contention included the HRH group, the Neemrana and Samode chain of hotels.

WelcomHeritage, which was formally launched as a separate hotel brand in 1997, includes heritage properties as well as properties at heritage locations usually on a franchise basis .the chain has a total of 36 hotels including several erstwhile royal residences – Umed Bhavan Palace at Kota and the Noor-us-Sabah Palace at Bhopal; as well as a number of forts in Rajasthan dating several centuries back.
